In 2003, he finished first with a score of 5-1 at the Yanofsky Memorial Tournament, ahead of GMs John Fedorowicz, Kevin Spraggart, Helgi Olafsson, and Dimitri Tyomkin. Not a bad showing for a guy in his 70's. Arthur has a new book called: "The Art of Bisguier". Arthur once beat a young Bobby Fischer with a nice queen sacrifice.

Recently Arthur was named the Dean of American Chess. Arthur was part of the USCF team. He traveled the country for many years giving exhibitions and promoting the game.
